The
Cessna 421 & 414
The prototype
Cessna 421 flew in October 1965, as a
pressurised development of the Cessna 411.
Deliveries began in May 1967. It was
followed in 1969 by the 421A, in 1970 by the
larger and more powerful 421B Golden
Eagle, and the 421C of 1975.
The 414 appeared in 1969 as a lower cost
variant of the 421. It featured a
pressurised fuselage based on that of the
401 and 402. The 414A Chancellor of
1978 dispensed with wingtip tanks in favour
of a wet wing, and featured a lengthened
nose.
1901 Model 421s and 1055 Model 414s were
built, production of both ceased in 1985.
